LOGISTICS OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
About this job
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Sea Import Shipping Coordinator to join our Ocean Import team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling end-to-end sea import operations and ensuring smooth cargo movement while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management
Handle end-to-end sea import shipments (FCL/LCL), ensuring timely and accurate processing from arrival to final delivery, including Delivery Order release and trucking arrangements.
Documentation
Prepare, verify, and process all necessary import documentation, including Arrival Notices (NOA), Delivery Orders, permits, invoices, and customs-related documentation to ensure smooth cargo clearance.
Coordination and Tracking
Monitor vessel schedules and shipment statuses, proactively updating customers on vessel delays, cargoarrivals, shipment exceptions, or operational changes.
Vendor Liaison
Coordinate closely with shipping lines, co-loaders, customs brokers, hauliers, transport providers, and other vendors to ensure smooth cargo clearance and timely delivery.
Customer Service
Serve as the primary point of contact for import customers, providing timely updates, handling shipment-related inquiries, and resolving operational issues to maintain high service standards.
Problem Resolution &Team Support
Proactively identify and resolve shipment-related issues, communicate cargo irregularities to customers, and provide operational support and backup to team members when required.
Billing & Costing
Prepare and process customer invoices accurately and on time, support special billing requirements, and coordinate with relevant parties on billing-related matters.
Compliance
Ensure accurate permit declarations and adherence to customs requirements, company procedures, and import regulations governing cargo movement.
Requirements:
- Diploma, NITEC or equivalent qualification
- Experience in freight forwarding, shipping, logistics, or sea import operations preferred.
- Knowledge of Singapore Customs permit declaration procedures will be an advantage.
- Familiar with shipping documents such as Bill of Lading, Delivery Orders, and import permits.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Meticulous, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
