Research Assistant (Optical Information Security and Metasurfaces)

Project Title: High-Dimensional Structured Light for Optical Information Security

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to support a research project on high-dimensional structured light for next-generation optical information security. The role involves the design, simulation, fabrication, and characterization of metasurfaces that generate and manipulate structured light fields for secure optical encoding, authentication, and anti-counterfeiting applications.

Key Responsibilities

Design and simulate metasurfaces for generation and manipulation of structured light (e.g., orbital angular momentum, vector beams, and other high-dimensional optical states).
Perform electromagnetic and optical simulations using tools such as Lumerical, COMSOL, MATLAB, or Python.
Fabricate nanophotonic and metasurface devices using cleanroom processes, including lithography, thin-film deposition, and etching.Characterize fabricated devices using optical measurement setups and analyze experimental data.
Assist in prototype development for optical security and information encoding applications.
Contribute to technical reports, journal publications, and research presentations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or a related field.
Experience in optical design, nanofabrication, or photonic device characterization.
Familiarity with numerical simulation tools and data analysis in MATLAB or Python.Hands-on experience in cleanroom fabrication is highly desirable.
Strong analytical, experimental, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.

Preferred Background

Experience in metasurfaces, nanophotonics, plasmonics, or diffractive optics.
Familiarity with optical imaging and characterization systems.
Prior exposure to nanofabrication workflows and research publication activities.Interest in translating advanced photonic concepts into practical optical security technologies.
