The Principal Physiotherapist will lead and oversee all physiotherapy services within the organisation, ensuring the delivery of high-quality rehabilitation programs while driving clinical excellence, service development, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage physiotherapy services across the organisation.
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and performance guidance to Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants.
  • Develop and implement specialised treatment pathways and integrated rehabilitation programs.
  • Deliver expert assessment and treatment for complex and specialised patient cases.
  • Promote evidence-based practice and continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Monitor service quality through audits, outcome reviews, and clinical governance activities.
  • Conduct staff training and professional development sessions.
  • Support client engagement initiatives and enhance patient satisfaction outcomes.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, policy development, and service expansion.
  • Represent the physiotherapy department in management and strategic meetings.
  • Support marketing, community outreach, and rehabilitation education initiatives.
  • Drive business growth and explore partnership, grant, and funding opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physiotherapy recognised by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC).
  • Fully registered with AHPC and holding a valid practising certificate.
  • BCLS + AED certification.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant physiotherapy experience in a hospital, nursing home, or rehabilitation setting.
  • At least 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong expertise in rehabilitation services such as neurological rehabilitation, orthopaedics, or geriatrics.
  • Proven experience in quality assurance, staff mentorship, and client relationship management.
  • Experience in private practice would be advantageous.
  • Postgraduate qualifications or training in healthcare leadership would be beneficial.
  • Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and strategic planning skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems.
