Chemical Tanker Operator

Salling Search is currently recruiting for a Chemical Tanker Operator for a chemical tanker shipping company based in Singapore.

Reporting directly to senior management, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day shore-based operations of chemical tanker vessels, coordinating multi-parcel voyages across multiple discharge ports.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate shore-based operations for chemical tanker vessels, including voyage planning and execution
• Handle vessels trading with multiple cargo parcels (approximately 11 to 12 parcels per voyage) across multiple discharge ports
• Liaise with vessel masters, port agents, terminals, and charterers to ensure smooth cargo operations
• Monitor vessel positions, port calls, and cargo activities, proactively resolving operational issues as they arise
• Coordinate with internal teams including chartering, commercial, and accounts on operational matters
• Review and manage operational documentation including Bills of Lading, cargo manifests, and port documentation
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and HSSEQ standards applicable to chemical tanker operations
• Maintain accurate records and provide timely operational updates to management

Requirements

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of shore-based chemical tanker operator experience
• Candidates with prior seagoing experience in the chemical tanker sector are preferred, though this is not a mandatory requirement
• Strong understanding of chemical tanker operations, multi-parcel cargo handling, and multi-port discharge coordination
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
• Good communication and coordination skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
