Key Responsibilities
- Review electrical design drawings, single-line diagrams, and specifications, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and relevant codes (e.g., SS 638/CP 5, EMA regulations).
- Prepare and coordinate shop drawings, cable schedules, and material submissions for consultant/client approval.
- Support planning and scheduling of electrical installation works, ensuring alignment with the overall project programme.
- Coordinate electrical works on site with other M&E trades (ACMV, plumbing, fire protection) and civil/structural teams to avoid clashes and delays.
- Supervise and monitor electrical subcontractors and installation teams for quality, safety, and adherence to specifications.
- Assist in the testing and commissioning of electrical systems (LV switchboards, DBs, cabling, lighting, ELV, standby generators), and support statutory approval submissions (e.g., SP Group, LEW endorsement).
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks, identifying and resolving technical issues on site.
- Prepare technical submissions, RFIs, inspection requests, and progress reports.
- Assist in procurement and material take-offs for electrical equipment and components.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including as-built drawings, test reports, and O&M manuals.
- Support the M&E Manager in cost tracking, variation orders, and subcontractor coordination.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 3–6 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in the construction/building services industry.
Working knowledge of electrical building services systems, including LV power distribution, lighting design, ELV/BMS, and standby power.
Familiarity with local regulatory requirements (EMA, SCDF, BCA) and standards (SS 638/CP 5).
Experience coordinating with subcontractors, consultants, and site teams.
Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with BIM/Revit is an advantage.
Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) registration is an advantage but not mandatory.
