Senior Mechanical Engineer $8000 ( Product Design)

Job brief

• Demonstrate strong planning, results orientation, customer focus, creativity, problem-solving, and communication skills with minimal supervision.
• Develop modular hardware architectures, mechanical concepts, and detailed designs.
• Perform engineering analyses and proactively identify and resolve technical risks.
• Own mechanical development schedules and deliver designs to cost, quality, and timeline targets.
• Build quality into designs and support project planning and execution.
• Develop prototypes, test methods, and experiments to verify and validate designs.
• Translate customer needs and product requirements into functional mechanical solutions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing on injection molding, gears, machining, sheet metal, and assembly.
• Resolve manufacturing, performance, repair, and product improvement issues, including value engineering.
• Work cross-functionally with EE, Firmware, Software, Marketing, and other teams.
• Apply advanced mechanical engineering principles to complex technical challenges.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers on projects.

Requirement

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in mechanical design.
• Candidate must have full experience in product development from conceptualization to mass production.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering design principles and practice
• Experience designing complex mechanisms, such as clutches, gear trains, cams, and linkages
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical components such as motors, power transmission and sensors
• Expertise in the design of plastic, sheet metal, gear design, die-cast parts, rubber, electro-mechanical & mechanism parts/assemblies
• Fluent in SolidWorks CAD software or/and FEA
• Sound knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
• Knowledge of Design of Experiments and Six Sigma is preferred
• Competence with analytical techniques such as Design for Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design for Assembly, Design for Manufacturing, and Pugh Matrix is preferred
