Quantity Surveyor

About the role:

SMITECH is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial and contract administration functions for a major M&E infrastructure project in the East of Singapore.

This role will work closely with the project delivery team, contracts team, consultants, subcontractors and management to manage project costing, progress claims, variation orders, subcontractor claims and commercial documentation.

This project role is to be based on site on a 5-day work week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, evaluate and monitor project budgets, cost plans and cost reports for M&E works.
• Assist in tender preparation, quantity take-off, measurement and pricing for mechanical and electrical scopes.
• Prepare and submit progress claims, variation orders, final accounts and related commercial documentation.
• Review subcontractor quotations, claims, progress payments and contract-related submissions.
• Track project costs, identify cost risks and update management on commercial impact.
• Liaise with consultants, clients, subcontractors and internal project teams on contractual and commercial matters.
• Maintain proper records of claims, correspondence, contract documents, drawings and cost substantiation.
• Support project close-out, final account settlement and audit documentation where required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Engineering, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant Quantity Surveying experience, preferably in M&E construction projects.
• Good understanding of M&E measurement, tendering, progress claims, variation orders and subcontract administration.
• Able to read technical drawings, specifications, contracts and project documentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and project cost tracking documentation.
• Strong numerical, negotiation, communication and documentation skills.
• Able to work independently while coordinating closely with site and project teams.
• Prior experience in Singapore construction or infrastructure projects will be an advantage.
