About The Job

As part of Generation Singapore, the Programme Associate will join a fast-paced, collaborative team dedicated to creating impact for jobseekers in Singapore. The Associate would report directly to the Programme Manager and collaborate closely with the other teams to create impact in the lives of the Generation learners.

The Associate would be responsible for executing the learner engagement strategies including the following tasks:

  1. Manage screening and selection of applicants for assigned cohorts/programmes
  2. Responsible for learner engagement throughout programme journey and post-bootcamp follow-ups; manage all learner-facing communication and offer ongoing group and individual support to troubleshoot key learner concerns
  3. Plan and execute programme activities throughout programme journey, e.g. orientation, learner connect sessions, graduation, employer networking and placement activities
  4. Maintain and report programme and learner-related data using Generation data processes and systems
  5. Any other organisational support tasks assigned by supervisor

You will be part of Generation: You Employed, Singapore a local charity with a mission to create meaningful career pathways for people facing barriers to employment. We are an affiliate of Generation: You Employed, a global network of non-profit organisations working on a mission to bridge the gap between education and employment systems to prepare, place and support people into meaningful jobs that are otherwise inaccessible. Generation was created in 2014 to help bridge this gap—at speed and scale. Till date, Generation has supported more than 158,000 people of all ages across 18 countries to get into career-launching jobs. Our placement rates are one of the best in the market at nearly 77% of all Generation graduates securing full-time jobs within 180 days from completing the programme.

What Will You Do

1. Learner Recruitment (40%)

You will collaborate with our Outreach and Recruitment team to identify and select the best candidates for the programme:

  • Identify Potential: Screen and shortlist suitable applicants promptly according to our internal recruitment framework
  • Guide Candidates: Communicate outcomes and next steps to facilitate smooth applicant enrolment
  • Maintain Data Integrity: Update applicant data on Generation platforms in a timely manner

2. Programme Delivery (40%)

You will be the heart of our cohorts, keeping learners engaged, motivated, and supported from Day 1 to graduation.

  • Build the Experience: Partner with the Programme Manager and cross-functional teams to align on a Learner Engagement strategy and prepare the co-curricular activities calendar for every cohort
  • Execute Key Activities: Prepare learner communication materials and execute key activities such as programme orientation, learner connect sessions, and mentorship onboarding
  • Monitor Learner Progress: Monitor learner engagement and success by conducting classroom sessions, surveys, and learner check-ins, and assisting in the collection and consolidation of data regarding the programme
  • Troubleshoot and Support: Troubleshoot learner concerns and issues, encouraging peer support among learners to resolve common concerns, and escalating where required to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Communicate with internal team including programme manager, instructor, and volunteers on learner issues to support learner success

3. Placement Coordination (20%)

In collaboration with Employer Partnerships & Placement function, to:

  • Support Learners’ Employability Outcomes: Support placement preparation activities for assigned cohorts/programmes, including resume review, career fairs, etc.
  • Monitor and Report Impact: Ensure regular data collection and reporting on learner job status post-graduation and provide stakeholders with learner data

To Be Successful You'll Need to Have/Be:

  • Aligned with Generation’s mission and values
  • An individual who enjoys working with people and has a passion for supporting jobseekers of all ages to gain employment
  • Excellent multitasking, planning, prioritisation and organising skills; good orientation to detail and time management
  • An adept communicator who is able to customise their communication style to diverse learner groups, including alternating between supportive and directive style with equal level of comfort
  • Able to remain calm in adverse situations and think quickly on your feet
  • Confident speaking to a large group of learners and making presentations to explain complex messages to learners in a simple manner
  • Enjoy data entry, analysis and management, with a passion to make sense and utilise data to inform operational decision
  • Able to pick up digital tools for project management and open to taking additional training for tools like Salesforce, Asana, G-Suite, etc.
  • A self-starter who takes end-to-end ownership of tasks assigned; is open to asking for help where required, looks out for areas for improvement and implements developments in your own work, and can collaborate extensively across the organisation
  • Committed to prioritise learner interest and well-being, while balancing it against other stakeholders’ interests and organizational mission

Qualifications:

  • Open to all educational qualifications if you match the competencies mentioned above
  • Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, student management will be preferred. Fresh graduates are welcomed.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in Singapore. Please note that work pass sponsorship is not available for this position.
