Commis Chef

Role Description

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join our fine-dining culinary team.

The successful candidate will assist the Chef de Partie and senior chefs with daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, ingredient preparation, food production and presentation. The role requires strong attention to detail, kitchen discipline and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene and cleanliness.

Scope& Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie and senior chefs with daily kitchen operations.
• Carry out mise en place and ingredient preparation according to kitchen requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of stocks, sauces, reductions and other food items.
• Support hot-kitchen food preparation and production.
• Assist with meat preparation and cooking according to established standards.
• Ensure proper plating, presentation and consistency of dishes.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and food safety.
• Keep assigned workstations clean, organised and ready for service.
• Work efficiently as part of the culinary team during fast-paced service periods.
• Follow the restaurant's operating procedures and risk-management requirements.
• Perform other culinary duties as assigned by the Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef or senior chefs.
