Job Description
The Land Surveyor will be responsible for carrying out surveying works for construction and civil engineering projects, ensuring all measurements, setting-out works and survey records are accurate and in accordance with approved drawings and project requirements.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out land, topographic and engineering surveys at construction/project sites.
- Perform setting-out works for earthworks, roads, drainage, structures, utilities and other civil engineering works.
- Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks and reference points.
- Take accurate site measurements, levels, coordinates and alignment data.
- Verify site conditions against approved construction drawings and specifications.
- Conduct as-built surveys and prepare relevant survey records and reports.
- Prepare survey sketches, plans, calculations and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Supervisors, consultants and subcontractors on surveying requirements.
- Monitor construction works to ensure correct positioning, alignment, levels and dimensions.
- Identify and report any discrepancies between site conditions and approved drawings.
- Maintain, check and ensure proper usage of surveying equipment such as Total Station, Auto Level, GPS/GNSS and related instruments.
- Ensure survey works are carried out safely and in compliance with company and project safety requirements.
- Maintain proper filing and records of survey data, drawings and reports.
- Perform other surveying-related or ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Management.
Job Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or other relevant qualification.
- Relevant working experience as a Land Surveyor, preferably within the civil engineering, infrastructure, earthworks, reclamation or construction industry.
- Proficient in the use of Total Station, Auto Level, GPS/GNSS and other surveying equipment.
- Able to read and interpret construction drawings, survey plans and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and relevant surveying software will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of setting-out, levelling, topographic surveys and as-built surveys.
- Able to work independently and accurately with minimal supervision.
- Good coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and willing to work at construction/project sites within Singapore.
- Able to work according to project/site working hours when required.
- Candidates with experience in civil, marine and reclamation projects will have an added advantage.
