Senior Finance Executive

[This is a 9 months contract (Maternity Cover) - renewable / extendable depending on business needs]

The Operational Finance team oversees the Group’s day-to-day accounting activities and the financial close of its various subsidiaries, and corporate entities. The team covers a broad range of accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, accruals, prepayments, bank transactions, intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and other routine finance operations.

A key responsibility of the department is to ensure that entity-level financial results are accurate, complete, and finalised within the required timelines before they proceed to Group consolidation, statutory reporting, and management reporting. This involves maintaining reliable accounting records, completing the books of SPVs and subsidiaries, reconciling and validating intercompany balances, addressing issues arising during the closing process, and ensuring that all reconciliations and supporting documentation are properly prepared and reviewed.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support the daily accounting activities for designated business processes and legal entities.
• Record and process accounting transactions accurately and within established timelines to facilitate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and aligned with Group accounting policies and IFRS requirements.
• Provide assistance during statutory audits and support the implementation and maintenance of internal control procedures, including SOX/ICFR requirements.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and other functional teams to ensure transactions are captured correctly and financial reporting milestones are achieved.
• Participate in finance-related initiatives, process improvements, and other ad hoc assignments as required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business, or a relevant discipline.

• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CA Singapore, or CPA Australia will be considered an added advantage.

• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in financial accounting, general ledger, operational finance, audit, or a similar function. Experience within an MNC, maritime organisation, or related industry would be advantageous.

• Solid knowledge of financial accounting principles, month-end closing activities, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and IFRS.

• Familiarity with internal control frameworks, SOX/ICFR, and financial governance requirements would be beneficial.

• Proficient in the use of ERP platforms, with experience in Oracle Fusion preferred, as well as Microsoft Excel.

• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities, coupled with good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Able to work with minimal supervision, engage effectively with stakeholders across different functions, and manage responsibilities within strict reporting timelines.
