Overview:

Supply and Trading (S&T) is the commercial link to the market for Upstream and Downstream & Chemicals (DS&C). S&T applies its knowledge of commodity markets, the wellhead-to-customer value chain and transportation logistics in the crude, gas, and refined products markets to maximize the value of enterprise assets and enable the commercial success of Upstream and DS&C. S&T buys, sells, and supplies crude oil, refined products, natural gas, and gas liquids to support Chevron's crude and gas production operations and its refining and marketing network. S&T integrates enterprise-wide supply and trading capabilities to capture commercial opportunities across the entire value chain through commercial functional excellence.

Gas Supply and Trading (GSAT) markets and trades around Chevron’s LNG assets as well as responsible for managing the company’s activities in the European Natural Gas market. GSAT is tightly integrated with Upstream and Enterprise Optimisation (EO) to capture opportunities across the entire wellhead-to-customer value chain. The team collects and leverages market intelligence to deliver incremental value and enhanced profitability through strategic arbitrage, storage and third-party trading, balancing the Chevron system and proactively managing changing flows to ensure flow assurance.

The Global LNG team is responsible for managing both physical and financial portfolios on a global scale. This includes handling equity and third-party contracts in both the Pacific Basin and the Atlantic Basin.

This position of LNG Trader located in Singapore will be a critical member of the Global Physical Team having responsibility for trading LNG both from Chevron’s Upstream assets as well as trading 3rd Party Volumes. With offices in Perth, Singapore, London and Houston our global teams procure, transport, and market pipeline and seaborn gas products to maximize the value of Chevron’s Upstream production. We work in close collaboration with Chevron Shipping, Pipeline and Power and third parties to transport gas for internal and external customers around the world.

Responsibilities of this position may include but are not limited to:

Trade physical LNG cargoes sourced or delivering in the Pacific basin, Middle East, JKTC and SEA as well as drive global optimization and arbitrage in conjunction with the global team.

  • Apply deep understanding of LNG fundamentals—commodity properties, global trade flows, pricing structures, freight dynamics, risk management practices, and supply chain economics—to craft and execute value‑accretive trading and hedging strategies.

  • Actively contribute to the development of a unified global supply–demand outlook and translate this into physical and financial trading strategies within the Trading time horizon.

  • Develop, maintain, and leverage strong internal and external relationships to support LNG expansion and strengthen Chevron’s global LNG footprint.

  • Management of price exposures relating to the global physical LNG portfolio

  • Partner with LNG Financial Traders and act as the enterprise Subject Matter Expert (SME) on physical LNG markets.

  • Collaborate closely with Origination to identify, structure, evaluate, and negotiate medium‑ and long‑term commercial opportunities.

  • Participate fully in desk activities in accordance with Chevron’s policies, controls, and compliance expectations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of trading experience in the LNG market, specifically in the Pacific Basin

  • Experience in LNG contract negotiations

  • An academic degree is required in one of the relevant fields, such as: Business, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management or Marketing.

  • Requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability in applying and leveraging digital tools and technology (strong Excel/VBA/PowerPoint) to provide solutions, and quantifying risks to support trading strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas and to represent the strategy and the team both internally and externally in a concise and articulate way, both orally and in writing.

  • Energized team player who will be able to assume considerable responsibilities in a dynamic, fast paced environment, with a focus on achieving sustainable business results.
