Head Bartender

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the bartending team during daily operations.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company standards.
• Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and taste of all drinks.
• Train and guide bartenders on cocktail preparation, service standards, and product knowledge.
• Manage daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Monitor liquor, beverage, and bar-stock inventory and maintain proper stock levels.
• Conduct regular stock checks and report shortages, wastage, or discrepancies.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and control of alcohol and other bar supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation of the bar area.
• Monitor customer service and handle customer feedback or complaints professionally.
• Ensure compliance with liquor licensing regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with the restaurant/operations team to ensure smooth service.
• Prepare daily sales, stock, wastage, and other required reports.
• Control beverage costs and minimise unnecessary wastage.
• Assist in creating and updating cocktail and beverage menus.
• Ensure all bartenders follow responsible alcohol service practices.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of bartending experience, preferably with experience in a supervisory or senior bartender role.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and other beverages.
• Good leadership and team-management skills.
• Able to train and motivate bartending staff.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Strong knowledge of bar inventory and stock-control procedures.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle busy periods.
• Good understanding of hygiene, safety, and responsible alcohol service.
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and late hours when required.
• Relevant bartending or hospitality certification is an advantage.
