Mechanical Technician – Machine Assembly
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and responsible Mechanical Technician – Machine Assembly to support equipment assembly, testing, maintenance, and production operations. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure machines and equipment are assembled according to technical specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, test, inspect, clean, and pack machines and equipment according to approved drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation.
Perform mechanical and electrical assembly activities, including installation and connection of components and sub-assemblies.
Manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and service equipment, tools, fixtures, and consumables used within the production area.
Conduct functional testing and basic troubleshooting to ensure assembled equipment meets required specifications and quality standards.
Assist in developing, reviewing, and revising assembly-related work instructions, procedures, and technical documentation.
Support engineers in investigating and analysing customer complaints, equipment issues, and assembly-related defects.
Participate in root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions where required.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance assembly efficiency, product quality, safety, and productivity.
Implement and follow best practices in machine assembly and production operations.
Maintain accurate records of assembly activities, inspection results, testing results, maintenance activities, and project documentation.
Maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with production, safety, quality, and EHS requirements.
Perform other duties and technical support activities as assigned by the supervisor or engineering team.
Job Requirements
Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience, preferably within the semiconductor, automation, equipment manufacturing, or precision engineering industry.
Good knowledge of mechanical assembly, electrical/electronic systems, equipment testing, troubleshooting, and related applications.
Able to read and understand engineering drawings, assembly drawings, schematics, technical documents, and work instructions.
Hands-on experience in machine or equipment assembly will be an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an advantage, particularly when coordinating with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
Self-driven, responsible, mature, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Positive attitude toward learning and continuous improvement.
Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Able to work independently and complete assigned tasks within required timelines.
