Senior Structural Engineer

JOB OVERVIEW

At B&W Engineering, we deliver mission-critical infrastructure that underpins the digital economy. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and delivery data centre projects, with a strong focus on mission-critical, and complex technical facility projects

This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-value developments—leading civil design delivery, shaping site infrastructure, and ensuring integration with building and mission-critical systems.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Leadership & Design (Site Infrastructure)

• Lead the design and co-ordination of building structural works
• Prepare and review detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Design substructure, superstructure conveyance/support systems, and other related structural/non-structural components
• Ensure designs align with project requirements, local authority standards, and best practices

Project Delivery

• Manage structural engineering packages from concept through detailed design to construction support
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical, civil, BIM) to ensure integrated site design
• Support authority submissions (e.g., PUB, LTA, BCA) and approvals processes
• Provide technical input during construction, site inspections, and issue resolution

Stakeholder Engagement

• Liaise with clients, contractors, and government authorities on design and delivery matters
• Participate in technical meetings and provide expert guidance on civil engineering solutions
• Support project managers in delivering outcomes aligned with client expectations

Mentorship & Team Development

• Mentor junior engineers and support capability building within the civil team
• Promote technical excellence and knowledge sharing
• Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team culture

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, constructability, and sustainability
• Support the adoption of digital engineering and BIM in structural design workflows
• Stay updated with evolving standards, design tools, and infrastructure trends

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Professional Engineer (PE) – Singapore registration or working towards (preferred)
• Registered or eligible for registration with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB)
• Familiarity with Singapore codes and authority requirements (e.g., PUB, LTA, BCA)
• Membership with Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) or equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience as a Senior Structural Engineer / Civil & Structural Engineer within a consultancy engaged in mission critical infrastructure projects
• Strong experience in building structures design, co-ordination and delivery of large-scale concrete, steel and composite structures
• Related civil engineering experience would be beneficial
• Solid understanding of Singapore authority requirements and submission processes
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary buildings and infrastructure designs
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• A proactive, solutions-driven approach with attention to detail and delivery excellence
