Summary
The Quantity Surveying team manages cost estimation, claims, and contract cost control. He/she reviews and certifies contractors' claims, monitors project expenditures, assesses variation orders and ensures contractual compliance while supporting operations on contract-related matters.
Responsibilities
Provide cost estimation and endorsement to the client / Superintending Officer (SO).
Prepare financial projection, carry out budgetary and expenditure control of contractors’ works
Prepare IFMC’s monthly payment claim.
Approval and endorsement of Contracts’ monthly payment claims ensure correctness, contract compliance and timely submission to client / SO.
Prepare and review tender documents for various contracts including calling of tender, submit tender evaluation report and administer the contracts upon award.
Review Invitations to Quote for small purchase values.
Support and advise operations to any contract dispute and ensure contractors’ compliance to the contract.
Certify contractors ad-hoc claims on repairs, upgrading, additions and alteration works.
Assess cost implication due to variation orders.
Submit monthly cost reports and monitor expenditures of various contracts.
Supervise Quantity Surveyors and validate accuracy of the submitted reports.
Support operations to ensure contractors’ compliance to the contract and to resolve any dispute.
Prepare, review and submission of Final Account for the completed contracts.
Requirements
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant Quantity Surveying experience, preferably in the building, M&E, facilities management, or construction industry.
Proven experience in cost estimation, quantity take-off, tender preparation, and contract administration.
Good knowledge of construction costs, materials, specifications, and industry practices.
Familiarity with contractual terms, variation orders, progress claims, and cost control would be an added advantage.
Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation, and communication skills, with good attention to detail.
