Position Overview:
As our client is expanding its footprint regionally, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support its business growth across Asia.
The role will focus on identifying commercial opportunities, developing industry partnerships and strengthening relationships with clients in the submarine cable, offshore energy and marine infrastructure sectors.
The successful candidate should possess relevant industry knowledge, strong commercial judgement and the ability to work closely with technical and operational teams.
Where You Lead:
- Identify and develop business opportunities in submarine power cable installation and maintenance, shore-end HDD and related marine services.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of tenders and commercial projects across Asia.
- Develop relationships with utilities, cable operators, offshore wind developers, government bodies and oil and gas companies.
- Identify and support potential consortiums, joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
- Work with Engineering and Operations teams to prepare commercially and technically suitable proposals.
- Participate in client meetings, tender discussions and contract negotiations.
- Monitor market developments, competitor activities and regulatory changes.
- Provide regular updates on business opportunities, market conditions and sales pipeline.
What We Require:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marine Science, Business or a related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualifications such as an MSc or MBA would be advantageous.
- 5 - 7 years of business development or commercial experience in marine contracting, submarine cables, offshore energy or heavy marine infrastructure.
- Good understanding of subsea cable operations, vessel capabilities, shore-end HDD or regional cable maintenance arrangements.
- Relevant business network and experience operating within the Asia-Pacific region.
- Ability to understand technical requirements and present clear commercial solutions.
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Willingness to travel regionally when required.
