Job Summary
We are a leading specialist engineering contractor seeking amotivated and detail-oriented M&E Coordinator to join our team. Inthis role, you will oversee the successful execution, procurement, andmanagement of specialized mechanical and electrical fluid/piping systems,ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Coordination: Attend site meetings and inspections to coordinate daily mechanical, electrical, and piping installations.
- Proactive Procurement: Forecast all project material and equipment needs 3 months in advance to secure long-lead items and eliminate site delays.
- Compliance & Quality: Ensure all M&E work complies with statutory regulations, industry standards, and quality frameworks.
- Contract Administration: Manage subcontractor contracts and resolve site disputes to maintain smooth project momentum.
- Progress Reporting: Provide regular material tracking and project updates to management and stakeholders.
- Value Engineering: Apply value engineering principles to optimize system designs, piping layouts, and equipment costs.
- Project Control: Assist project managers in delivering installations within designated timelines and budgetary constraints.
- Internal Collaboration: Support sales and estimation teams with technical input to align project execution with client requirements.
Required Competencies & Certifications
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in M&E systems and construction site procedures. (Experience with pumps, piping networks, or fluid management systems is a plus).
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Software: Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) for project documentation.
- Analytical Skills: Strong numerical skills to analyze project data and technical layouts.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Hands-on Attitude: Willingness to conduct site visits and perform hands-on troubleshooting alongside site teams.
- Teamwork: Collaborative team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Mobility: Possession of a valid Class 2 or 3 driving licence is an advantage.
