Application Engineer (SCADA / Industrial Automation / Automation & Controls)

• Working hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, build and maintain application code, system configurations and logic for SCADA and industrial automation projects

• Provide technical support and application solutions for SCADA, PLC, and integrated system projects

• Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable automation and control system solutions

• Review project specifications, drawings, tender documents and prepare technical proposals and quotations

• Perform Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and system testing in accordance with project/vendor requirements

• Support system design, configuration, engineering development and server maintenance

• Coordinate with internal teams, customers, contractors and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle

• Perform on-site troubleshooting, commissioning and production support at customer sites

• Prepare technical reports, manuals and project documentation

• Evaluate new technologies and recommend suitable engineering solutions
  

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or related discipline

• Experience or strong interest in any of the following is welcome: PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, industrial automation & control systems, or software/application development

• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet/IP or Profinet is a plus

• Basic coding/scripting knowledge (e.g. C, Python, or similar) is a plus but not required

• Able to read electrical schematics and/or engineering drawings

• Good communication and problem-solving skills
