Responsibilities

  • Manage daily R&D sample run activities and ensure timely execution of development and qualification plans.
  • Lead product, material, equipment, and process qualification activities, including new product introductions and process modifications.
  • Develop qualification plans, protocols, acceptance criteria, and implementation schedules.
  • Evaluate qualification results and provide recommendations for product and process release.
  • Conduct risk assessments, failure mode analysis, and technical evaluations to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Investigate process and equipment-related issues, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through qualification trend analysis, process optimization, and best practices implementation.
  • Plan, compile, monitor, and communicate qualification and sample run schedules to ensure alignment across functions.
  • Coordinate qualification activities among R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead customer qualification submissions, technical reviews, and approval processes.
  • Collaborate with other sites to facilitate engineering knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop Engineering Assistants and Technicians to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, safety requirements, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant working experience in semiconductor, HDD, electronics manufacturing, engineering, R&D, process, or quality-related environments is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with qualification methodologies, risk assessment, FMEA, SPC, DOE, and quality improvement tools.
  • Experience in leading engineering projects and customer qualification activities.
  • Able to work in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and global sites.
