Role Overview

Our client, a large Event management firm, is looking for a disciplined,assertive, and highly communicative Safety & Compliance Officer.This is not a desk-bound safety role, and you will operate on the "frontlines" of concert set-ups and live event production.

You will be the primary authority on-site for safetyenforcement, ensuring that our technical crew, clients, and promoters operatewithin the highest standards of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH).

The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical execution and safety regulation, turning complex safety protocolsinto clear, actionable instructions for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • On-Site Safety Leadership: Lead all safety enforcement during concert load-ins, set-ups, and tear-downs. Be the dedicated personnel for all site-specific safety matters.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for safety briefings with internal crew, external promoters, and high-level clients. You must be able to explain technical safety processes in a way that allays client fears while maintaining authority.
  • Workflow Discipline: Enforce strict "housekeeping" standards and operational discipline whilst maintaining rapport with our crew. Ensure that work areas are kept clear, hazards are mitigated in real-time, and crew members adhere to established workflows.
  • Zone Management: Strictly manage and enforce "No-Fly Zones" and restricted areas during rigging and high-altitude work to ensure zero-harm environments.
  • System Implementation: Develop, address, and implement robust safety systems and SOPs tailored to the unique challenges of the entertainment and events industry.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct and review Risk Assessments (RA) and Method Statements (MS) for every project, ensuring they are communicated effectively to the ground team.

Requirements

Experience: Prior experience in Construction Safety or Heavy Industry safety is highly preferred, given the structural and rigging similarities to concert staging.

Certifications: * Must be WSQ Certified in Workplace Safety & Health (Level B or higher). MOM Registered a Must

Possession of SCWWSH (Safety Coordinator) or Specialist Diploma in WSH is a significantadvantage.

Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal communication is a must. You should be comfortable addressing large groups,standing your ground during disputes, and translating complex regulations into layman's terms.

Mindset: A "firm but fair"approach. You must be comfortable enforcing discipline in a fast-paced, high-stress environment without compromising professional relationships.

Physicality: Ability to be on your feetfor extended periods in various venue environments (Stadiums, Indoor Arenas,etc.).
