About the Role:

The Chinese Copywriter and Researcher plays a pivotal role in shaping The Theatre Practice's brand identity and reaching our stakeholders. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Managers and working closely with the Artistic Director, you will be responsible for crafting compelling narratives, translating content, and managing media relations to enhance the company’s reputation and audience engagement.

What You’ll Do:

Copywriting and Translation:

  • Craft compelling Chinese copy for various marketing materials, including press releases, social media posts, advertising campaigns, promotional materials, and any other written materials required by the company.

  • Translate English content into fluent and culturally appropriate Chinese, ensuring accurate and consistent messaging.

  • Develop and maintain consistent brand voice and tone across all communication channels.

Marketing and Media Relations:

  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and implement effective marketing and publicity strategies for sales, ticketing, and promotions.

  • Build and nurture relationships with media editors, reporters, and journalists across print, radio, television, and online platforms.

  • Act as the media liaison for The Theatre Practice, building and maintaining relationships with media partners, drafting and distributing press releases, responding to media enquiries, and coordinating interviews and publicity opportunities.

Research:

  • Conduct in-depth research to recognize and map the artistic movements and ruptures within the company’s work, revealing insights not readily apparent to others.

  • Gather, explore, and summarise information pertinent to each production, project, or programme undertaken by the company.

Who You Are:

  • Passionate about theatre and the performing arts.

  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Have strong organisational and time management skills.

  • A creative, resourceful, and a team player.

  • Ability to write, edit, and communicate effectively in Chinese while working confidently across both Chinese and English.

  • Experience in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools is an advantage.
