Databased Administrator (SQL)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support Microsoft SQL Server databases in a production environment.
• Ensure high availability, performance, security, and data integrity.
• Lead backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
• Troubleshoot complex database and performance issues.
• Perform SQL query tuning, indexing, and performance optimization.
• Manage database upgrades, migrations, patching, and capacity planning.
• Implement and maintain High Availability / Disaster Recovery solutions.
• Work closely with developers, IT infrastructure, and business teams on database requirements.
• Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and improvement of the database environment.
• Take ownership of critical database incidents and provide root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on SQL DBA experience, preferably in a large or business-critical environment.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Strong experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Solid knowledge of High Availability, Disaster Recovery, backup and recovery.
• Experience with database migration, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of database security and access management.
• Azure / cloud database experience is an advantage.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in shipping, logistics, container leasing, supply chain, or asset-based businesses is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the database environment.
