Business Planning Specialist

THE ROLE:

The Central Forecasting Team (CFS Team) is part of AMD's AECG (Adaptive and Embedded Computing Group) Business Operations & Planning team. We deliver AECG product-level demand forecasts, empowering Supply Chain teams to execute critical functions such as raw material preparation, capacity reservation, prebuilds optimization and E&O analysis. We generate revenue reports with AECG product, customer and market details for revenue consensus process. We build, maintain and continuously refine the Central Forecasting System, design data visualizations, and leverage analytics and automation to improve forecasting effectiveness and operational efficiency. CFS team works very closely with AECG Business Management, Customer Operations, Finance and Supply Chain teams to ensure every aspect of product forecasting runs smoothly.

THE PERSON:

The candidate must have strong analytical skills, be good with numbers, be meticulous, and possess a keen eye for detail to process large amounts of data within tight timeline. Ability to derive business insights from data and identify opportunities for process optimization and automation. Comfortable working with cross-functional stakeholders and translating business needs into scalable reporting and analytical solutions. Strong team player, self-motivated, and open to continuous learning and adopting emerging technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and deliver AECG product-level demand forecast for non-NPI (new product) silicon
• Provide AECG product-level demand forecast to support supply planning processes, including raw material preparation, capacity reservation, prebuilds optimization, and E&O analysis.
• Generate revenue forecast reports across product, customer, and market dimensions to support the revenue consensus process and establish business planning revenue guidance.
• Maintain and enhance forecasting systems and analytics platforms, including SQL database, Oracle APEX tools, Power BI reports and dashboards, and internal AMD AI-enabled solutions.
• Closely collaborate with business management, customer operations, finance, and supply chain planning teams to drive process improvement and ensure forecasting runs smoothly.
• Manage forecast accuracy metrics and recommend actions to improve forecast performance
• Drive automation initiatives to improve reporting efficiency and accelerate decision making.
• Apply analytical techniques and leverage data-driven insights to identify forecasting risk, anomalies, business opportunities, and operational improvements.
• Explore opportunities to utilize advanced analytics, machine learning, data science, and AI-enabled solutions to improve predictive techniques for forecasting models.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience or strong interest in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain, business planning, or operations analytics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with knowledge of statistics and the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
• Experience in forecasting, inventory management, production planning, or related supply chain processes.
• Proficient in Excel and working knowledge of PL/SQL, Power BI, Python, ERP systems, or similar analytics tools.
• Experience in automation, dashboard development, reporting solutions, or process improvement initiatives is an advantage.
• Exposure to data science, machine learning, AI-enabled analytics, forecasting models, or predictive analytics to improve business performance is an advantage.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Accounting
