Responsibilities:

  1. Project Supervision and Oversight: Act as the key on-site representative, ensuring that all civil and structural works are carried out in compliance with contract specifications, design drawings, and regulatory requirements.
    Oversee construction activities to ensure project schedules are adhered to, and work quality is maintained.
  2. Coordination with Stakeholders: Liaise with the project management team, contractors, sub-contractors, and consultants to resolve issues related to design, construction methodology, or site conditions.
    Ensure clear communication between all parties to facilitate smooth project execution.
  3. Quality Assurance & Control: Inspect and monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to design standards and quality benchmarks.
    Conduct quality control checks and verify that materials used meet project specifications.
  4. Regulatory and Code Compliance: Ensure that all civil and structural works comply with local building regulations, safety standards, and codes.
    Prepare and submit necessary documentation to regulatory authorities, and ensure compliance with inspection and approval processes.
  5. Technical Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues related to design, materials, and construction methodologies.
    Propose solutions to problems that may arise during construction without compromising on safety, quality, or project timelines.
  6. Site Safety: Ensure adherence to all site safety protocols and statutory safety regulations.
    Conduct site safety inspections and enforce corrective actions when needed.
  7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all construction activities, site conditions, test results, and progress reports.
    Provide regular reports on project progress, quality control issues, and any non-conformance issues.

Key Activities:

  1. Daily Site Supervision: Inspect the site daily to monitor progress, assess workmanship, and check material deliveries.
    Identify any potential delays or risks and take preemptive measures to mitigate these.
  2. Review of Drawings and Specifications: Review construction drawings, specifications, and method statements to ensure they are up-to-date and reflect actual site conditions.
    Ensure any design changes are communicated clearly and implemented correctly on-site.
  3. Coordination of Structural Tests and Inspections: Arrange for and oversee structural tests (e.g., soil tests, pile load tests) to confirm that materials and construction techniques meet required standards.
    Coordinate with independent inspectors for statutory inspections.
  4. Contractor and Subcontractor Management: Oversee contractors and subcontractors to ensure their work aligns with project goals, standards, and timelines.
    Approve or reject works based on their quality and adherence to plans.
  5. Problem-Solving and Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve potential issues related to construction sequencing, materials, or structural integrity.
    Work with design engineers to adjust plans if necessary based on on-site conditions.
  6. Regular Site Meetings: Attend regular site meetings to discuss project progress, resolve any issues, and ensure alignment with project timelines.
  7. Final Inspections and Handover: Participate in the final inspections to ensure that the project meets all contractual and regulatory requirements before the handover to the client.
    Ensure all necessary certifications, as-built drawings, and warranties are in place for the final project handover.
