Safety Officer / WSHO

Job Summary

You will manage all Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) procedures on construction sites, coordinating between contractors, government bodies, and the company to ensure compliance and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and liaise between Main Contractor, Government bodies, and the Company to manage WSH procedures and resolve site safety issues
• Conduct regular safety inspections to verify site activities comply with MOM safety requirements and ensure worker adherence
• Implement, monitor, and maintain the company’s workplace safety management system by directing and enforcing WSH Supervisors on site
• Identify and recommend measures to minimize foreseen risks on construction sites to prevent incidents
• Report safety infringements, incidents, and accidents to the Company promptly and accurately
• Prepare detailed safety reports as requested to document compliance and incidents

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma or Specialized Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH)
• MOM Registered WSH Officer
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry with in-depth knowledge of ISO and OHSAS safety standards

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Strong administrative and report writing skills demonstrated through preparation of safety documentation
• Ability to work effectively as a team player with attention to detail
• Flexibility to work at different job sites
