Senior / Speech Therapist (Hospitals/Nursing Home/Day Rehab Centre)

Key Responsibilities

• Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive clinical and instrumental evaluations (e.g., FEES, Videofluoroscopy) for speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders (dysphagia).

• Treatment Planning & Execution: Formulate and deliver evidence-based, individualized rehabilitation plans to improve communication skills and facilitate safe oral feeding and swallowing function.

• Tracheostomy & Complex Care: Assist in managing patients with complex needs, including post-stroke rehabilitation, head and neck oncology, and tracheostomy weaning protocols for speech and swallowing.

• Multidisciplinary Care: Collaborate closely with doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and dietitians to ensure integrated care management and safe discharge planning.

• Patient & Caregiver Education: Train patients and family members on modified diet textures, compensatory swallowing strategies, and alternative/augmentative communication (AAC) devices.

• Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical records of patient assessments, progress reports, and treatment outcomes in compliance with professional standards.

• Supervision & Mentorship (Senior Role): Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and competency assessment for junior speech therapists, therapy assistants, and speech therapy students.

• Quality & Clinical Advancement: Participate in continuous quality improvement projects, clinical audits, research initiatives, and service development tasks assigned by leadership.

Job Requirements

• Professional Registration: Active registration as a Speech-Language Therapist with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) in Singapore, holding a valid Practising Certificate.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology / Speech Therapy from an AHPC-recognized institution.
