Kitchen Assistant

Tandem Co is looking for a reliable and proactive full-time Kitchen Assistant to join our growing team.

This role will primarily support our baker with daily preparation and kitchen duties, while also assisting with simple food preparation and light cooking for our café menu.

Responsibilities

• Assist the baker with daily baking preparation and production

• Prepare ingredients, portion items and assist with general kitchen prep

• Handle simple cooking such as pastas, sandwiches and other light café dishes

• Assist with food plating and presentation

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and work areas

• Wash and sanitise equipment, utensils and work surfaces

• Follow proper food safety and hygiene practices

• Assist with stock checking, storage and kitchen inventory

• Support the wider café team with other kitchen duties when required

Requirements

• Previous kitchen, café or bakery experience is preferred

• Comfortable with basic food preparation and light cooking

• Willing to learn and take direction

• Reliable, punctual and responsible

• Proactive and able to work independently when required

• Good attention to cleanliness and food hygiene

• Positive attitude and a team player

Working Arrangement

• Full-time position

• 5-day work week

• Salary: $2,300 – $2,600/month, depending on experience

• Weekend availability required

• Working hours to be discussed
