Purchasing Director

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Procurement: Develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies that align with the company’s financial objectives and growth plans.
• Vendor & Lifecycle Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with high-value suppliers.
• Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery.
• Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with Singapore regulations (e.g., PDPA, MOM guidelines) and international trade laws. Develop robust contingency plans for supply chain disruptions.
• Digital Transformation: Drive the adoption of advanced procurement technologies (e.g., AI-driven analytics, automated e-sourcing tools, and ERP systems) to enhance operational efficiency.
• Sustainability & ESG: Integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria into the supplier selection process, aligning with Singapore’s Green Plan 2030.
• Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and upscale a diverse team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Logistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain management, including substantial experience in a managerial or leadership capacity.
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiation, procurement cost optimization, and supply chain risk management.
• Experience managing regional or international suppliers and procurement activities across multiple markets.
• Knowledge of procurement governance, regulatory compliance, international trade, and supply chain risk mitigation.
• Knowledge of ESG, sustainable procurement, and responsible sourcing practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop procurement teams and manage cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
