Senior / Staff Nurse (Mental Health)

To deliver high-quality, evidence-based, and holistic psychiatric nursing care to patients with mental health conditions.

The incumbent will establish therapeutic relationships, conduct clinical assessments, manage behavioral crises, administer treatments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to support patient recovery and safety.

Scope & Purpose: Deliver holistic, evidence-based psychiatric nursing care, manage clinical risks, and build therapeutic nurse-patient relationships within a Singapore hospital.

Clinical Assessments & Care: Conduct Mental Status Examinations (MSE), evaluate suicide/aggression risks, implement nursing care plans, and monitor psychotropic medication side effects.

Crisis Management: Utilize non-violent de-escalation techniques and manage behavioral emergencies in strict compliance with safety guidelines and the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with psychiatrists, psychologists, medical social workers, and allied health staff to coordinate recovery-focused care and discharge planning.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.

• Valid registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).

• Desirable: Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Mental Health) or post-graduate mental health qualification.
