Job Summary
Carry out cranes' inspections, repairs, and servicing of marine/offshore equipment independently and with minimal supervision. Provide after-sales support, troubleshoot client issues onsite or remotely, prepare detailed service reports, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, repairs, and servicing as assigned by the Service Manager to maintain marine/offshore equipment functionality
- Deliver after-sales customer service by evaluating repairs, managing safety concerns, coordinating replacement parts, and maintaining documentation
- Troubleshoot and resolve client equipment breakdowns onsite or remotely to minimize downtime
- Independently service and repair equipment onsite with minimal supervision to meet client needs
- Communicate clearly and liaise with clients to provide updates and technical support
- Travel locally and overseas on short notice via boats or helicopters to client sites for service delivery
- Prepare detailed service reports and accurately record all findings and tasks performed onsite and offsite
- Log daily work hours and task descriptions on the standard Service Engineer Time Sheet for accurate tracking
- Ensure all service documents are signed and copies retained for invoicing and record-keeping purposes
- Attend training sessions, medical checks, and courses as assigned to maintain skills and compliance
- Adhere strictly to government regulations and company QSHE (quality, safety, health, and environmental) policies and procedures at all times
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support team and operational goals
Required competencies and certifications
- Technical or vocational education relevant to marine/offshore industry
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the marine/offshore industry
- Crane Maintenance and Service Experience
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with clients and team members
- Meticulous and resourceful approach to managing multiple tasks efficiently
- Experience working with mechanical equipment in marine/offshore contexts
