Job Summary

The Maintenance Assistant will perform routine building maintenance to ensure safe, fully operational facilities. Tasks include repairing plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, cleaning, and supervising contractors.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair on building structures, equipment, and surroundings to maintain operational safety and functionality
• Repair and maintain plumbing systems to ensure proper water flow and prevent leaks
• Repair and maintain electrical systems to ensure safe and reliable power supply
• Carry out general carpentry tasks to maintain and restore building fixtures and fittings
• Perform painting works to preserve and enhance building surfaces
• Conduct regular cleaning and upkeep of building exteriors and equipment to maintain cleanliness and appearance
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize downtime and hazards
• Coordinate and supervise outside contractors to ensure quality and timely completion of maintenance tasks
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities for tracking and compliance purposes

Required competencies and certifications

• Core Trade Certificate or equivalent

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance, construction, or related field
• Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems
• General carpentry and painting skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team
