CAD/CAM Engineer

ALG is currently recruiting a Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) Engineer for one of our renowned aerospace clients based in the East of Singapore. This is a contract opportunity to support manufacturing engineering operations, including process improvement, tooling, and production support for aerospace programmes.

Job Summary

Provide technical support for manufacturing operations by developing and improving manufacturing processes, resolving technical issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, productivity, and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop, modify and validate NC/CNC programs for precision machining operations.
• Create and modify 2D/3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings using Siemens NX or equivalent CAD/CAM software.
• Develop G-code / NC programs and optimise machining parameters, tool paths, cutting conditions and cycle times.
• Perform CAM programming and offline CNC program validation prior to production.
• Develop manufacturing processes, process flow, work instructions, JIS and related manufacturing documentation.
• Design and improve tooling, jigs, fixtures and gauges to support machining processes.
• Review engineering drawings, GD&T and manufacturing requirements to determine machining feasibility and process sequence.
• Troubleshoot CNC machining and production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support NPI, First Article Inspection (FAI), process validation and production readiness activities.
• Drive process improvements to reduce cycle time, tooling costs, defects and manufacturing costs.
• Work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to resolve technical and process-related issues.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Precision Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, NC programming or precision machining.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens NX CAD/CAM is highly preferred.
• Experience in NC/CAM programming and G-code generation.
• Ability to create or modify CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
• Knowledge of CNC milling and/or turning processes, including machining parameters, tooling and tool selection.
• Experience with G-code, Siemens or Heidenhain controls is advantageous.
• Experience with MasterCAM, hyperMILL or other CAD/CAM software will be considered.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tooling/fixture design and machining process development.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
