Assistant Contracts Manager

Salary: Up to $8,000
Work Schedule: 5-Day Work Week

Job Summary

Assist the Contracts Manager in leading a team of Quantity Surveyors (QS) and managing the end-to-end commercial, tendering, and contract administration processes to safeguard the company’s contractual rights and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Process Improvement

• Lead & Mentor: Manage a team of QS, providing daily guidance and technical support to ensure high-quality output.

• Workflow Optimization: Review existing commercial workflows and implement best practices to improve efficiency.

Contract Administration & Commercial Management

• Contract Oversight: Oversee main contract and sub-contract administration from project commencement to final account closure.

• Advisory Support: Interpret contract clauses to advise project stakeholders on cost, contractual issues, and risk mitigation.

• Financial Claims: Manage sub-contract payments, Variation Orders (VOs), Extension of Time (EOT) claims, etc.

Tender Management

• Tender Leadership: Oversee the entire tendering process to ensure competitive, accurate, and timely submissions for upcoming projects.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.

• Significant experience in local construction contracts and tender management.

• Natural leadership ability with a desire to mentor and develop junior staff.

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple high-priority deadlines.
