UX Researcher (Qualitative Research)

We are seeking an experienced UX Researcher to develop deep, actionable insights into the needs, behaviours, motivations, and pain points of users. You will play a key role in shaping and continuously improving digital products and services through rigorous qualitative research. The role involves planning and conducting user research, engaging directly with users, analysing complex findings, and translating insights into clear recommendations for product, design, technology, and business teams. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

# User Research

  • Plan and conduct generative, iterative, and evaluative qualitative research.
  • Apply research methods such as in-depth interviews, contextual inquiry, ethnographic studies, field research, and usability testing across web and mobile platforms.
  • Define research objectives and select suitable methodologies based on product and business needs.
  • Manage participant recruitment, research scheduling, consent, and study documentation.

## Analysis and Insight Generation

  • Analyse interview transcripts, observational notes, usability sessions, and other qualitative data.
  • Apply techniques such as thematic analysis, affinity mapping, and behavioural pattern identification.
  • Synthesise complex findings into clear, practical, and actionable insights.
  • Maintain accurate and structured documentation of research findings and supporting evidence.

### Research Communication and Storytelling

  • Translate detailed or ambiguous research findings into compelling narratives.
  • Develop research reports, presentations, journey maps, service blueprints, process flows, and other research deliverables.
  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to senior management and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ensure that user insights inform product, design, technology, and business decisions.

#### Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, data teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Participate in design workshops, brainstorming sessions, and product planning discussions.
  • Advise teams on research priorities, user needs, usability risks, and potential solutions.
  • Identify recurring user patterns and insights that may apply across multiple products or business functions.

##### Research Operations

  • Support and improve participant recruitment pipelines, research repositories, templates, and research processes.
  • Promote consistent research standards and best practices across teams.
  • Improve the accessibility, reuse, and visibility of research findings across the organisation.
  • Explore tools and processes that enhance research quality, speed, and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in UX research or user research.
  • Strong expertise in qualitative research methods and participant recruitment.
  • Hands-on experience conducting user interviews, usability testing, contextual inquiry, and field studies.
  • Proficiency in qualitative analysis methods such as thematic analysis and affinity mapping.
  • Experience developing journey maps, service design blueprints, process flows, and research reports.
  • Ability to define research objectives and select appropriate methods for different stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of user-centred design and digital product development processes.
  • Ability to translate research findings into clear and actionable recommendations.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with product, design, technology, data, and business teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple research initiatives and priorities independently.

Good to Have:

  • Familiarity with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
  • Experience using AI-assisted or AI-augmented research tools and methods.
  • Experience with quantitative research methods such as surveys, A/B testing, product analytics, and customer satisfaction measurement.
  • Experience combining qualitative and quantitative findings to validate and strengthen research conclusions.
  • Experience working on consumer-facing web or mobile digital products.
