Our client is looking to hire a hands-on Assistant Finance Manager for a manufacturing/energy entity in which the firm invested. For this role, you will report to the FC and also work closely with the CEO. You will also interact with the CFO and senior management of the holding company (who are based in Singapore). This is a hands-on senior accountant role within a lean finance team of 3 (including this role and the FC).
The role is based at the Pioneer/Gul Circle office 2 to 3 days a week (and 2 -3 days based at the town office at Raffles Place).
Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Oversee the full spectrum of accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes
Supervise and review accounting activities, including AR, AP, inventory, fixed assets, GST reporting, and regulatory compliance
Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
Prepare financial reports, management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial analysis/commentary for management reporting and decision-making
Consolidation, Group Reporting & FP&A
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidation process, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, and consolidation adjustments
Review and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances, ensuring accurate elimination entries and compliance with accounting standards
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities, including developing financial models and business cases
Conduct variance analysis and identify key business drivers
Business Partnering & Team Supervision
Partner with operational and department leaders to provide financial insights, drive profitability, improve cost management, and support business decision-making
Translate financial data into actionable recommendations and participate in business reviews and operational meetings to support strategic objectives
Lead, coach, and develop the finance team, ensuring high performance, accountability, and timely delivery of key financial activities and deadlines
Compliance & System
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, GST requirements, statutory reporting obligations, and company policies, including the coordination of audits and regulatory submissions
Liaise with auditors, bankers, tax agents, and regulatory authorities while strengthening internal controls, governance processes, and financial compliance frameworks
Drive finance systems optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central enhancements, process automation, workflow improvements, and system implementation projects
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent) preferred
Minimum 5–8 years of accounting and finance experience, including team leadership responsibilities (though this role is expected to be very hands-on)
Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or related industries, with hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central being an advantage.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with a commercial mindset and attention to detail.
Demonstrated commitment to process improvement, automation, and continuous learning
Ability to work on-site in the Pioneer/Gul Circle area at least 2–3 days per week (and another 2-3 days in the Raffles Place office). There is no WFH arrangement.
