About the Team

The NUS Academy for Healthy Longevity operates as a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary research team led by Prof Andrea B. Maier. Each research project is structured with a Research Fellow as the scientific lead, supported by a Head of Research Operations who works closely with you on day-to-day research activities, and a Research Assistant to support execution. As a Research Fellow, you will lead your primary research project while also contributing your domain expertise to other ongoing studies where relevant. The broader team includes a Head of Partnerships, a procurement specialist, and a communications lead who support the team across institutional relationships, operational logistics, and scientific visibility.

About the Role

The NUS Academy for Healthy Longevity seeks a Research Fellow (post-doc) with expertise in digital health technologies and digital biomarkers of ageing. The successful candidate will lead the digital biomarker programme within our clinical trial portfolio, harnessing wearable technologies, continuous monitoring, and data science to capture real-world ageing signatures at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration and validation of digital biomarkers of ageing into clinical trial protocols, including wearables, continuous glucose monitoring, accelerometry, sleep tracking, and remote sensing technologies
  • Design analytical frameworks to extract meaningful ageing-related signals from high-frequency longitudinal digital data
  • Evaluate and validate new digital assessment tools and technologies for clinical research application
  • Collaborate with clinical and wet lab teams to triangulate digital biomarkers with biological and clinical ageing measures
  • Drive the development of machine learning and AI-assisted approaches to digital ageing phenotyping
  • Lead and contribute to scientific publications and grant applications in digital health and ageing
  • Supervise research staff and students working on digital data pipelines and analytics

Qualifications

  • PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Digital Health, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in digital biomarker research, wearable technology, or health data science
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools including R, SPSS, Python, Stata, or equivalent; experience with large longitudinal datasets and time-series analysis
  • Scientific writing is a core requirement: the candidate must have demonstrated experience leading the writing and submission of peer-reviewed manuscripts
  • Familiarity with clinical research environments and regulatory requirements for digital health tools
  • Experience working with human participant data and clinical trial protocols
  • Genuine interest in ageing science and the application of digital technologies to healthy longevity
