Job Summary

Join EduGrove as a Chinese Language Teacher to deliver engaging and interactive Chinese enrichment lessons to students from Playgroup to Secondary levels. You will use creative and effective teaching methods to enhance student engagement, develop language proficiency, and support positive learning outcomes, while providing regular feedback to parents on students’ progress.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons enthusiastically following teaching plans to ensure effective language learning
• Apply interactive methods such as activities, drama, and games to engage students from Playgroup to Secondary levels and improve their Chinese skills
• Plan, review, and evaluate lesson effectiveness regularly to enhance teaching outcomes and student engagement
• Communicate clearly and consistently with parents to provide updates and feedback on students’ learning progress
• Demonstrate attentiveness and sensitivity to students’ individual needs and well-being to support their overall development
• Explain programme features and activities confidently to prospective parents to support student enrolment
• Collaborate with the Vice-Principal to develop and improve course materials

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education, Chinese Studies, Chinese Language, or related fields from reputable universities such as NUS, NTU, or NIE
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Mandarin to conduct lessons and communicate effectively with parents
• Experience in teaching Chinese Language preferred; entry-level candidates are welcome
• Passion for learning and teaching, with a love for working with children
• Fun-loving, energetic, and bubbly personality to create an engaging learning environment
• Experience or training in drama is an advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Availability to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays within a 5-day work week
