Senior Associate, Trust
About this job
THE ROLE
You will be the person a client deals with while deciding whether to put their family's assets into trust — and the person who then makes that happen. The role combines relationship management, business development and onboarding: fact-finding conversations with clients and their advisers, matching objectives to the right fiduciary structure, and carrying the case through due diligence to execution. It suits someone who wants client ownership rather than case processing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, introducers, professional advisers and business partners.
- Understand clients' estate planning, succession, asset protection and wealth preservation objectives.
- Act as the point of contact across the client lifecycle, and stay engaged as planning needs evolve.
- Develop long-term relationships with key clients and referral partners.
Onboarding & Advisory Support
- Conduct fact-finding discussions and help identify suitable trust and fiduciary solutions.
- Guide clients through onboarding, from first consultation to implementation.
- Coordinate the collection and review of due diligence documentation.
- Work with Compliance, Trust Administration, Legal and Operations to move cases through.
- Liaise with lawyers, accountants, tax advisers, financial advisers and other intermediaries.
- Coordinate documentation execution so the onboarding experience holds together end to end.
Business Development
- Develop and maintain referral networks with professional advisers and business partners.
- Participate in client seminars, workshops, networking events and educational programmes.
- Identify opportunities to introduce additional trust, estate planning and fiduciary services.
- Support departmental growth targets and contribute to marketing initiatives.
Administration & Compliance
- Maintain accurate client records in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support KYC, AML/CFT and CRS/FATCA onboarding requirements.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and regulatory compliance throughout.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Essential
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Finance, Law, Estate Planning, Wealth Management or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant client-facing experience in trust services, private banking, wealth management, financial or insurance advisory, estate planning, fiduciary, legal or professional services.
- Strong relationship management and networking ability.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain trust concepts in practical terms.
- Strong organisational and follow-up discipline.
- Professional and confident with senior professionals and affluent clients.
Advantageous
- Prior experience engaging high-net-worth clients, business owners or professional intermediaries.
- Professional qualifications such as AEPP®, STEP/TEP, CLU, ChFC, CFP, CFA or CPA.
- Ability to converse in Mandarin, in order to serve Mandarin-speaking clients and their families.
HOW YOU WORK
- Client-centric, with a strong service orientation.
- Able to work independently while collaborating across Compliance, Legal and Operations.
- Mature and composed in sensitive family conversations.
- Persistent on follow-up — onboarding stalls without someone chasing it.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Attractive remuneration with performance-based incentives.
- Exposure to sophisticated trust structures and family succession engagements.
- Sponsorship and support for industry certifications (STEP, AEPP® and others).
- Structured career progression within a growing trust and estate planning group.
- Medical and dental benefits upon confirmation.
