Position Overview
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious Packing Manager to oversee the packaging and dispatch operations within our high-volume central kitchen catering division. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end packing process—ensuring that all prepared meals, menu items, and catering equipment are accurately assembled, securely packaged, temperature-controlled, and dispatched on time for various events, corporate clients, and functions.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management: Supervise the daily workflow of the packing floor, ensuring seamless coordination between the kitchen production lines and dispatch logistics.
Quality & Accuracy Control: Implement strict quality control checks to guarantee that all food items match the menu specifications, portion sizes, dietary requirements, and client orders before sealing.
Hygiene & Safety Compliance: Maintain the highest standards of food safety (HACCP/ISO guidelines), personal hygiene, and workplace cleanliness within the packing area.
Inventory & Equipment Oversight: Manage stock levels of packaging materials (boxes, containers, labels, cutlery, insulated bags) and coordinate equipment maintenance.
Team Leadership: Train, schedule, mentor, and evaluate packing staff and crew members to maximize productivity and efficiency during peak catering hours.
Logistics & Dispatch Coordination: Work closely with drivers and the logistics team to ensure loading is organized logically for delivery routes, minimizing transit damage and food spoilage.
Key Requirements
Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in food packaging, warehouse management, or kitchen operations, specifically within catering, hospitality, or food manufacturing.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of HACCP, food safety regulations, and temperature-sensitive food handling.
Skills: Exceptional organizational and leadership skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment under tight deadlines.
Tech Literacy: Familiarity with inventory management software and automated packing/labeling systems is a distinct advantage.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift or move heavy catering supplies.
Education: Diploma in Food Science, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
