Preventive Maintenance Technician
About this job
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of the company's CNC machines, milling machines, and other production equipment.
Preventive Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on CNC machining centres, CNC lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, compressors, air dryers, and other production equipment.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules, checklists, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Lubricate, clean, inspect, and replace worn machine components where necessary.
- Monitor the machine's condition and identify potential failures before a breakdown occurs.
Corrective Maintenance
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
- Carry out repairs on production machinery to restore normal operation as quickly as possible.
- Replace faulty machine parts and components.
- Coordinate with external machine suppliers or service contractors for major repairs when required.
Machine Reliability
- Minimize equipment downtime through prompt response to machine breakdowns.
- Conduct root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in machine installation & relocation.
Job Requirements
Education
- NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Precision Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience maintaining CNC machining centres, CNC lathes, milling machines, or metalworking equipment is preferred.
- Fresh graduates with relevant technical training may also be considered.
Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings, machine manuals, and maintenance documentation.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs.
- Experience using hand tools, measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 8.30 am to 6 pm
