Job Summary
Lead and supervise Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) installation works for data centre projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements while coordinating with project teams to deliver timely, defect-free outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) installation works for data centre projects to ensure adherence to approved drawings and project specifications
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to identify defects or non-conformities in data centre M&E systems
- Coordinate with main contractors, M&E subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and project teams to resolve technical and site issues efficiently
- Oversee installation of critical data centre systems including HVAC/ACMV, chilled water systems, electrical distribution, UPS, generators, switchboards, containment, and associated M&E services
- Witness and verify testing & commissioning (T&C) activities to confirm systems meet design and operational standards
- Monitor installation progress and ensure completion according to project schedules
- Review and verify method statements, inspection requests, test reports, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical submissions for accuracy and compliance
- Identify construction issues, coordinate corrective actions, and follow up on outstanding defects to maintain project quality
- Maintain accurate daily site records, inspection reports, progress reports, T&C records, and project documentation for audit and reference
- Ensure all works comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements and data centre safety standards
- Support integrated systems testing (IST), commissioning, handover, and defect rectification activities for data centre projects
- Communicate effectively and coordinate independently with contractors, consultants, vendors, and project stakeholders to facilitate smooth project delivery
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Registered Technical Officer (RTO) in M&E
- BCSS (Building Construction Safety Supervisor) certification
- RTO M&E registration with Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES)
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in data centre projects with exposure to critical M&E systems and installation works
- Knowledge of Singapore construction practices, M&E requirements, and WSH regulations
- Familiarity with data centre critical infrastructure, redundancy requirements, commissioning procedures, and quality standards
- Strong communication, coordination, inspection, reporting, and problem-solving skills
