Research Assistant (Organic Chemistry)

School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) is a newly established interdisciplinary joint school under College of Engineering and College of Science at NTU Singapore. Prof Loh Teck Peng's group conducts research in organic synthesis, green chemistry, and the synthesis of complex organic molecules. The Loh’s group is looking for research assistant to facilitate the group’s research and lab housekeeping.

We are looking for a Research Assistant, Organic Chemistry, to support the day-to-day operation of Prof Loh Teck Peng's laboratory. The role will focus on laboratory housekeeping, chemical procurement, general administrative support, and facilitate the Loh group’s research.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support day-to-day laboratory operations, records and inventories.

• Coordinate approved laboratory procurement and purchasing documentation.

• Provide routine administrative support to the PI and research group.

• Assist with supervised experimental research, data collection and documentation.

• Support laboratory housekeeping, safety and procedural compliance.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.

• Relevant research experience in organic or synthetic chemistry is preferred.

• Good organisational skills, with the ability to maintain laboratory records, inventories and routine procurement/admin documentation.

• Basic knowledge of laboratory safety, good research practices and accurate record keeping.

• Ability to support experimental research under supervision and to collect, organise and perform basic analysis of research data.

• Good written and oral communication skills, with working proficiency in common office productivity software.

• Meticulous, responsible and able to work independently while prioritising multiple laboratory, administrative and research tasks.
