Job Title: QA & QC Executive

Job Summary

We are seeking a QA & QC Executive to support the Supervisor in managing food safety systems, product documentation ,regulatory compliance, and production trials. Training and guidance will be provided ,hence fresh graduates are welcome.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry, Food Safety, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
  • 2–3 years of relevant QA/QC experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
  • Candidates with relevant food manufacturing experience and strong practical QA/QC knowledge may also be considered.
  • Good working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety and quality control practices.
  • Knowledge of Singapore food safety and labelling requirements is an advantage.
  • Good command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

Food Safety / Certification Requirements

  • WSQ Food Safety Course (FSC) Level 1 is required for personnel who handle food in the manufacturing environment.
  • Candidates with WSQ FSC Level 3 or experience as a Food Hygiene Officer (FHO) will be preferred. SFA requires FHOs to hold a valid WSQ FSC Level 3 certification.
  • WSQ FSC Level 4 / Advanced Food Hygiene Officer (AFHO) qualification is an added advantage for candidates with supervisory responsibilities or those who may support the company's future food safety management requirements.

Key QA/QC Responsibilities

  • Conduct incoming raw material, in-process and finished product inspections.
  • Perform and record routine quality checks such as appearance, colour, odour / flavour, texture, Brix, pH, viscosity and other relevant product parameters.
  • Review raw material and finished product specifications and COAs.
  • Monitor production processes and identify deviations from approved specifications.
  • Raise and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
  • Investigate product quality issues and customer complaints together with R&D and Production.
  • Coordinate microbiological, chemical and other laboratory testing with external laboratories.
  • Monitor product shelf-life and stability testing where required.
  • Maintain QA/QC records, inspection reports, product specifications and other quality documentation.
  • Support HACCP, GMP, food safety programmes and internal/external audits.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with Singapore food safety requirements.
  • Work closely with R&D, Production, Purchasing and Sales to resolve quality issues.
  • Support production trials and new product development activities where required.

Preferred Technical Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

  • Food manufacturing QA/QC
  • Chocolate and confectionery products
  • Bakery ingredients and products
  • Nut pastes, spreads and fillings
  • Glazes and coatings
  • Beverage or powdered products
  • Microbiological testing and interpretation of laboratory reports
  • COA and raw material specification review
  • Customer complaint investigation
  • Supplier quality management
  • Shelf-life studies
  • HACCP documentation and audits
  • Root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions

Key Competencies

The candidate should be:

  • Independent and able to manage day-to-day QA/QC activities with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented and systematic in documentation and record keeping.
  • Analytical and able to identify potential causes of quality issues.
  • Proactive in following up on outstanding quality issues.
  • Able to communicate effectively with Production, R&D, Purchasing and Sales.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Willing to work hands-on in both the laboratory and production environment.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should not only perform routine QC checks but also be capable of investigating quality issues, reviewing data, identifying root causes, following up on corrective actions, and independently managing QA/QC documentation and activities.

This will allow the QA/QC function to operate more independently and enable closer collaboration with R&D and Production.
