Role Purpose

The Material Planning & Execution (MPE) Manager oversees and drives material planning, inventory optimization, and purchase order execution governance for our regional trading entity. This role leads a team of 3 MPE Executives and serves as the strategic link between our affliate MPE Leads, regional business leadership, and global supply chain stakeholders. The MPE Manager integrates MPE strategies into the SIOP cycle, establishes regional MPE standards, consolidates and synthesizes regional MPE reporting, and ensures consistent supply continuity to support APAC growth targets.

Key Accountabilities

  • Material Planning & Inventory Control: Lead replenishment planning, review demand and consumption patterns, maintain planning parameters, and optimize inventory levels while balancing availability, working capital, and slow-moving inventory exposure.
  • Inventory Segmentation & Stocking Strategy: Lead the regular review of inventory portfolios using ABC-XYZ analysis to classify materials based on consumption value and demand variability. Develop and maintain appropriate stocking strategies, service levels, replenishment methods, safety stock policies, and planning parameters for each inventory segment to optimize product availability while controlling inventory investment.
  • Regional Reporting & Analytics: Lead the consolidation and analysis of regional MPE performance metrics, including stock availability, inventory health, slow-moving/obsolete (SLOB) exposure, and supplier delivery performance. Present regional MPE insights and executive dashboards to APAC Supply Chain leadership.
  • Purchase Order Execution: Ensure timely creation, confirmation, and follow-up of purchase orders by team members. Monitor supplier commitments, expedite critical materials, and escalate supply risks early to protect customer delivery commitments.
  • Supplier Delivery Performance: Track supplier adherence to agreed delivery windows, coordinate corrective actions for recurring delays, and provide visibility on supply constraints to Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, and Management.
  • Inbound Shipment Coordination: Coordinate inbound shipments and documentation with suppliers, logistics providers, Warehouse, Customer Service and Finance. Ensure shipment milestones and SAP updates are accurate and timely.
  • Material Master & Planning Data Governance: Own the accuracy of planning-relevant master data, including lead times, MOQ, safety stock, reorder points, standard lengths, HS codes, and other local data required for reliable MPE execution.
  • Claims, Invoice & Issue Resolution: Coordinate supplier-related claims, resolve invoice or goods receipt mismatches with relevant stakeholders, and ensure closure of open issues in line with company policy.
  • Process Standardization & Continuous Improvement: Implement regional MPE standards, support SAP and digitalization initiatives, improve planning discipline, and drive productivity through better tools, reports, and ways of working.
  • Cross-Functional & Cluster Alignment: Partner closely with Sales, Sourcing, Logistics, Customer Service, Finance, and our affiliates MPE Leads to harmonize SIOP inputs and align supply strategies.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Directly manage, coach, and develop team members, setting clear KPIs, balancing operational workloads, and fostering continuous capability building.

Key Interfaces

Sales, Sourcing, Customer Service, Logistics, Finance, Warehouse, Procurement, Suppliers, Freight Forwarders / 3PLs, and affiliates Supply Chain/MPE Lead.

Expected Deliverables / Performance Indicators

  • Improved material availability and reduced supply disruption risk.
  • Regular ABC-XYZ inventory segmentation review completed with planning parameters aligned to inventory classification.
  • Healthy inventory profile, including optimized days in inventory and controlled slow-moving / drag inventory.
  • On-time supplier delivery and timely escalation of supplier service issues.
  • Accurate SAP planning parameters, purchase order status, shipment updates, and master data.
  • Effective coordination of inbound, cross-trade, claims, and invoice resolution activities.
  • Timely delivery of standardized regional MPE reports, executive summaries, and KPI scorecards.
  • Consistent adoption of regional MPE processes, reporting cadence, and continuous improvement actions.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in material planning, supply planning, or inventory control, within Industrial Automation, Electrical/Electronic Component Manufacturing, Machinery & Equipment, or Cable & Harnessing Assembly sectors. At least 2–4 years in a regional or multi-entity coordination role with proven direct supervisory/people management experience. Strong hands-on exposure to SIOP governance is an advantage.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced hands-on experience with SAP ERP (MM modules) and enterprise planning systems. Strong command of business intelligence tools(Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Excel modeling.
  • Language &Communication: Fluency in written and spoken English, with strong executive presentation skills. Regional language capabilities are a plus.
