Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain real-time, high-availability payment and security systems supporting public transport fare processing.
  • Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, system design, software development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop payment devices and security solutions for smart card-based transit systems.
  • Produce and maintain project documentation, including requirements specifications, design documents, test plans, operation manuals, training guides, and maintenance documentation.
  • Perform application testing, verification, and validation to ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements.
  • Support system deployment, installation, field testing, and post-implementation activities.
  • Deliver high-quality software solutions in accordance with project schedules and quality standards.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects and issues reported by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide application support and technical assistance to ensure system availability, reliability, and optimal performance.
  • Adhere to established quality assurance processes, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of software development experience using C++ and/or Java on Windows, Linux, and/or embedded platforms.
  • Strong experience in requirements analysis, use case development, software design documentation, object-oriented design, and UML modelling.
  • Hands-on experience with multi-threaded application development, socket programming, and serial communication.
  • Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience working in Agile and/or Rational Unified Process (RUP) environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively both independently and within a team.

Preferred Skills

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas will have an advantage:

  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, and web-based application development.
  • Three-tier or distributed software architectures.
  • Database design, SQL development, and ODBC integration.
  • Virtualization and container technologies.
  • Messaging technologies such as MQ and MQTT.
  • Secure communication protocols, including HTTPS and FTPS.
  • Payment systems, data processing and analysis, and EMV standards.
  • Secure coding practices, cryptography, and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
  • Security key management systems and related processes.
