Overview

We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant to join our Translational Pharmacology Unit. In this role, you will support the unit through in vivo and in vitro pharmacology studies, including the establishment and characterisation of in vivo pharmacology models, evaluation of drug efficacy and biological activity, assessment of mechanism of action, and support of PK/PD and biomarker studies for therapeutic candidates.

You will work according to established SOPs, ensure high standards of data quality and integrity, and participate in routine laboratory maintenance and animal husbandry duties. You will also collaborate closely with team members and colleagues from other units.

You communicate clearly, collaborate well in multidisciplinary settings, and take ownership of assigned tasks. You are eager to learn, open to feedback, and committed to continuously improving your technical skills. You work with care and attention to detail, stay organized, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the evaluation of drug efficacy, pharmacological activity and biological activity.
  • Establish, maintain and characterise in vivo pharmacology models to support drug discovery and development projects.
  • Perform Pharmacokinetic (PK), Pharmacodynamic (PD), and biomarker studies to support translational research.
  • Follow experimental protocols carefully and ensure all procedures are performed consistently, safely, and in compliance with SOPs.
  • Carry out animal immunization procedures and monitor study outcomes according to established protocols.
  • Perform animal husbandry duties, including animal care, health monitoring, record maintenance and related activities in accordance with established protocols.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Biomedical Science/Biochemistry/Chemical Biology/Biotechnology/Molecular Biotechnology or related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant research experience. Fresh graduates with a keen interest in in vivo pharmacology are welcome to apply.
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory procedures, including sample preparation, pipetting, reagent preparation, and data recording.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following techniques is preferred:
    - Molecular Biology technique
    - Cell Culture
    - Flow Cytometry
    - Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR)
  • Candidates with experience in handling animals such as mice, rats and/or rabbits are highly encouraged to apply.
