Senior Manager, Accounting (Fund & Corporate Accounting)
About this job
Job Description
About Cambridge Advisers
Cambridge Advisers (CA) is a Singapore-headquartered compliance advisory, fund administration and corporate services firm serving close to 200 MAS-regulated financial institutions — fund managers, family offices, external asset managers and fintech firms. Our team of 30+ professionals operates across Singapore, Malaysia and China, and we are building ULTRA, an AI-powered compliance operating system for regulated financial institutions.
Why this role
Genuine with clients, sharp on the issue, decisive on the solution — that is how we work, and we are looking for a senior accountant who works the same way. This role gives you a seat at the leadership table of our accounting practice: senior from day one, trusted with final sign-off, leading a cross-border team, and paid accordingly.
The Role
You will be the second-in-command of CA's accounting practice, working alongside our Head of Accounting & Tax with end-to-end ownership of a portfolio of Singapore and international clients and day-to-day leadership of our outsourced accounting team across Singapore and Malaysia.
You will be the senior reviewer and client lead for your portfolio — the person whose sign-off means the work is right, and the person clients call. You will deputise for the Head of Accounting & Tax and be a strong candidate to co-lead the practice as it scales.
Responsibilities
Client delivery
- Own monthly, quarterly and annual accounting and financial reporting for fund vehicles, fund management companies, family offices, holding companies and operating entities in Singapore and internationally
- Act as senior reviewer on investment and fund accounting: NAV calculations, portfolio valuation, investor allocations, capital calls and distributions, management fee and carried interest computations, and fair value measurement under SFRS(I) 9 / SFRS(I) 13
- Manage audits with Big 4 and mid-tier auditors and resolve technical accounting questions
- Advise client CFOs, COOs, fund managers and investors directly as a trusted adviser
Team leadership
- Lead the day-to-day management of the outsourced accounting team in Singapore and Malaysia: workload allocation, capacity planning, review hierarchy, quality control and deadlines
- Recruit, train, coach and retain a high-performing team; set clear performance expectations
- Build a culture of ownership, accuracy and responsiveness
Practice development
- Work with the Head of Accounting & Tax to improve workflows, review procedures, controls and documentation
- Lead adoption of accounting technology and automation, including CA's in-house AI tools
- Support scoping and onboarding of new clients, including engagement setup and transition of records
- Report regularly on team performance, capacity, risks and client issues
Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification: ISCA CA (Singapore), ACCA, CPA or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years leading a team and managing multiple client engagements concurrently
- Strong technical grounding in SFRS(I) / IFRS, with hands-on experience in investment and fund accounting (private equity, venture capital, hedge, real estate or multi-asset structures)
- Working knowledge of Singapore corporate, tax and regulatory requirements (ACRA, IRAS, MAS-licensed entities)
- Experience serving international clients and cross-border reporting
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise judgement and resolve problems without close supervision
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate credibly with senior client stakeholders
An advantage
- Background in a fund administrator, outsourced accounting provider or professional services firm
- Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite or fund accounting platforms
- Proficiency in Mandarin, as the role involves liaising with Mandarin-speaking clients and counterparties in Greater China
What We Offer
- A highly competitive remuneration package reflecting the seniority and accountability of the role, with performance-linked bonus
- A clear leadership path with the opportunity to co-lead the firm-wide accounting practice
- Exposure to a sophisticated client base of regulated fund managers, family offices and institutional investors
- A growing, entrepreneurial firm with direct access to the founders, where good ideas are acted on quickly
- Work at the intersection of accounting and AI
