Job Title :Department Manager (Beauty & Accessories) - Merchandising

Location: Orchard
Compensation & Benefits: Competitive Basic Salary + Allowances + AWS + Variable Bonus
Working hours :Five-day work week, 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with a rotational schedule that includes working one weekend day per week; one rest day will be allocated on a weekday.

Role Overview

As a Department Manager for Beauty & Accessories, you will be entrusted with full ownership of the department’s commercial success, brand presentation, and customer experience. This role demands a strategic leader with a refined sense of fashion, strong business acumen, and the ability to deliver an exceptional luxury retail experience both in-store and online.

Key Responsibilities

1. Merchandising Strategy & Market Intelligence

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales, merchandising, and inventory strategies to achieve revenue, margin, and stock targets.

  • Curate and manage a sophisticated merchandise mix aligned with brand positioning and evolving customer preferences.

  • Drive omni-channel synergy by optimizing product assortment and performance across both physical boutiques and e-commerce platforms.

  • Analyze market trends, customer demand, and fashion movements to identify growth opportunities and introduce new brands or collections.

  • Lead sourcing and procurement initiatives, ensuring efficiency, quality, and alignment with brand standards.

  • Conduct in-depth competitor benchmarking and market research to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Negotiate strategically with vendors and partners to secure optimal commercial terms and exclusive opportunities.

  • Oversee merchandise planning, including international buying trips and delivery scheduling.

  • Lead and execute departmental renovation and enhancement initiatives to elevate the retail environment.

2. Commercial Performance & Cost Management

  • Oversee daily business operations, ensuring seamless execution of sales strategies and operational excellence.

  • Monitor and control departmental expenditures, with a focus on maximizing profitability and productivity.

  • Lead by example on the sales floor, inspiring teams to deliver against sales, service, and operational KPIs.

  • Analyze sales, inventory, and profitability reports to inform decision-making and strategic planning.

  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and performance reports.

3. Marketing, Visual Merchandising & Client Engagement

  • Conceptualize and implement impactful marketing campaigns, promotions, and in-store events aligned with brand identity.

  • Elevate visual merchandising standards to ensure a luxurious and compelling product presentation.

  • Leverage digital marketing channels and tools to enhance customer engagement and drive omni-channel growth.

4. Leadership, Talent Development & Client Experience

  • Develop and execute strategic manpower plans to ensure optimal staffing and operational efficiency.

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing team to deliver exceptional, personalized customer service.

  • Uphold impeccable standards of grooming, professionalism, and brand representation across all team members.

  • Conduct structured training programs and continuous on-the-job coaching to elevate service excellence.

  • Drive performance management processes, including appraisals, feedback, and career development planning.

  • Foster a client-centric culture by proactively addressing customer feedback and resolving concerns with discretion and professionalism.

  • Continuously refine operational processes and service standards to enhance the overall customer journey.

5. Governance, Compliance & Confidentiality

  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, operational standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Uphold workplace safety standards in accordance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations.

  • Safeguard all confidential business information, maintaining the highest level of integrity and discretion.
