The Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations and maintaining accurate and timely financial records in accordance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Accountant will support the full accounting cycle, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, bank reconciliation, fixed asset management, month end and year end closing, financial reporting, GST reporting, audit support and tax computation.
The role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to complete accounting activities within established reporting timelines.

Primary Duties:
Accounting Operations
· Process and maintain day-to-day accounting transactions accurately and efficiently.
· Verify supporting documents, approvals, and relevant information before processing accounting transactions.
· Review and process staff claims, ensuring supporting documents are complete and transactions are properly approved.
· Create and maintain supplier master records after validating the required documentation.
· Review and perform AP invoice matching against purchase orders and Goods Receipts, and work with SCM to resolve discrepancies before posting.
· Verify invoice completeness, approvals, GL coding, and supporting documents; clarify discrepancies with users before posting non-PO AP invoices.
· Verify billing information against supporting documents and issue AR invoices.
· Allocate incoming receipts and investigate and resolve unmatched or unidentified collections
· Support intercompany billing and reconciliation activities.
· Prepare payment vouchers and process bank payments in accordance with company approval procedures.
· Prepare and post GL journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, provisions, advance payment, fixed asset and other accounting adjustment.
Reconciliation and Closing
·Perform bank reconciliations and follow up on outstanding reconciling items.
· Reconcile the Trial Balance against relevant sub ledgers and supporting schedules.
· Preparing and maintain supporting schedules for month end and year end closing.
· Assist with month end activities and ensure all accounting entries are completed within the required reporting timeline.
· Maintain accurate fixed asset records and assist with fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers and depreciation.
· Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and management reporting.
· Prepare and send Statements of Account (SOA) to customers.
· Assist in mid-year and year end stock take.
· Prepare GST Reports and related supporting schedules in accordance with statutory requirement
Audit and Tax
· Assist in preparation audit schedules and supporting documents for external audit
· Assist in the preparation of draft audit financial statements.
· Assist in the preparation of tax computations.
· Perform any other ad hoc duties or assignments as directed by the Head of Finance.
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma, Advanced Diploma, ACCA, or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
· Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience
· Hands-on experience in accounting operations.
· Good working knowledge of GST, audit requirements, and tax computation.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
· Knowledge or experience in Epicor and Concur will be an added advantage.
